With only hours remaining in the transfer window the Magpies are still trying to move out fringe players with several clubs in the  lower tiers interested in their stars.

Championship outfit Luton are firm admirers of Newcastle starlet Anderson and were interested in adding him to their squad in the last transfer window.

The Hatters are still keen on snapping up the 18-year-old and have followed up their interest from January, enquiring about him being available on a deadline deal on loan.

However, Newcastle have shut the door on an exit for Anderson this summer and have told Luton he is not available for a move.

The highly-rated midfielder is part of Steve Bruce’s plans for the first team this term, having made his senior debut last season.

Anderson was sidelined during pre-season owing to a hip-injury, but has returned to full-training and Newcastle want to keep close eye on his development, with him expected to play a supporting role in Bruce’s squad once he is back to full fitness.

Luton are tipped to keep a close eye on Anderson’s progress at St. James’ Park and they could come back for him in the next transfer window.
