The Lille midfielder has been on Wolves’ radar this summer and they made a move to sign him today in a last-minute deal.
Wolves sounded out the player’s representatives over a potential move and even approached Lille to negotiate a deal.
But it has been claimed that the club are not going to continue the pursuit of the Lille midfielder today.
Wolves held talks with Lille but those negotiations never went anywhere and they are now out of the race.
However, the Midlands outfit could still complete a deadline day deal for a midfielder and Leicester City’s Choudhury is tipped to be a viable option for them.
The 23-year-old is also a target for Newcastle, who want him on loan, but a move to St James’ Park is far from certain.
Wolves could hijack a potential move for Choudhury to Newcastle in the coming hours having ended their chase for Sanches.
In addition to Newcastle and Wolves, Choudhury is tipped to have other interested parties and it remains to be seen where he ends up playing this season.
