In a deadline day deal, Berahino signed for the Owls from Belgian side Zulte Waregem for an undisclosed fee.
Berahino previously worked with manager Moore at West Bromwich Albion, a club for which the forward made more than 120 appearances, scoring 36 goals.
The forward played in Belgium last season and netted four times in 24 league appearances for Zulte Waregem as he struggled to nail down a spot in the team.
He is keen to get his career back on track in England and has taken a big pay cut in order to move to Sheffield Wednesday.
Berahino is keen to play under Moore again and has a good relationship with the Owls boss.
Moore was claimed to be in constant contact with Berahino’s representatives and the forward himself ultimately pushed for the transfer to go through.
Berahino will now be looking to repay Moore for the trust he has placed in him as Sheffield Wednesday look for an instant return to the Championship.
