Coutinho joined Barcelona from Liverpool in January 2018 for a deal worth €160m, but his move has not worked out for him and the club.
The Brazilian has struggled in his time at the Nou Camp and his transfer is considered by many to be one of the hallmarks of Barcelona’s financial mismanagement over the last few years.
He is part of Ronald Koeman’s plans this season after Barcelona failed to find a buyer for him in the summer and the Coutinho transfer is set to continue to weigh down on their finances this year.
According to Catalan daily Sport, Barcelona will be obligated to pay a fee of €20m to Liverpool if the 29-year-old plays more ten more games this season.
As part of the agreement between the two clubs, Liverpool are due a payment once Coutinho plays 100 games for the Catalan giants.
The Brazilian has already featured 90 times for Barcelona and are now just ten games away from the century figure.
With Koeman expected to play him, he may well touch that figure and Liverpool will be a due a big payment.
