Sheffield Wednesday’s unbeaten start to the season came to an end against Morecambe towards the end of last month, but they are still only two points below table-toppers Sunderland.

The Owls take on the Pilgrims today looking to get back to winning ways and boss Darren Moore will square off against Lowe, a former player at Hillsborough himself.

Lowe considers the meeting between the Pilgrims and the Owls a clash of two giant clubs with massive support.

He thinks the atmosphere will be fantastic and for all intents and purposes the contest is a Championship game between two clubs who should be in the division above.

“It’s two big clubs locking horns, two big fanbases locking horns and that’s a buzz for me, it’s a buzz for the players”, Lowe was quoted as saying by Plymouth Live.

“It’s a buzz for everyone associated with the football club.

“Yeah, Sheffield Wednesday do travel in their numbers, they have a fantastic support home and away, but so do we.

“It’s going to be one of those exciting afternoons where I think, and I hope, both sets of fans are singing along and cheering their teams on.

“These are Championship games, these are Championship clubs locking horns.

“I know we are not there at the moment, but for me these are two big clubs locking horns to get three points.

“It’s hopefully going to be an exciting afternoon.”

The Owls were relegated from the Championship last season while the Pilgrims were last in the second tier in the 2009/10 campaign.

The Pilgrims spent most of the last decade in League Two and were only promoted to the third tier in the season before last.
