The 21-year-old joined Scottish Premiership side Hearts on a season-long loan deal from Premier League outfit Liverpool towards the end of the summer transfer window.

Woodburn went on to make his debut for Hearts in their 2-0 win over Dundee United last month before linking up with the Wales national team for international duty.

The Liverpool loan star also started in Hearts’ stalemate against Hibernian at the weekend and was one of the positives for Neilson’s side.

Reflecting on Woodburn’s performance, Neilson explained that the Welshman is still getting up to speed at Hearts, but admitted that he can already see the quality he possesses.

To be fair to Ben, he’s not really been with us that much“, Neilson was quoted as saying by Edinburgh Evening News.

He came in, played against Dundee United, and then went on international duty.

He came back on Thursday and he’ll continue to get his fitness levels as he only played 13 minutes [with Wales].

He’s got real quality.

Having made a good impression on Neilson already, Woodburn will be looking to build on the momentum and enjoy a good season with Hearts before returning to Liverpool.
