The 26-year-old defender joined Championship club Sheffield United on loan until the end of the season from Liverpool in the recently concluded transfer window.

Davies failed to make a single competitive appearance for the Reds after joining from Preston North End in February, but is hopeful of getting regular playing time at Bramall Lane this term.

One month into his stint with Sheffield United, the centre-back has impressed Blades boss Jokanovic with his personality, which the Serbian tactician feels reflects in his calm performances on the pitch.

Jokanovic, who claimed that Davies plays good football, explained that the defender’s calm performances reflect his off the field attitude and described him as a cold man.

Ben is experienced, he plays good football and he is definitely in position to be an option [against Preston North End]“, Jokanovic was quoted as saying by The Star.

Ben plays his football like his personality is.

He is calm and, although I know this is the wrong word, sometimes a cold man.

He shows these personality traits when he is playing his football.

Having joined Sheffield United on loan, Davies will be looking to use the spell to claw his way back into Jurgen Klopp’s plans when he returns to Anfield at the end of the season.
