The 20-year-old defender joined Championship club Swansea on loan until the end of the season from Premier League side Liverpool on the final day of the recently concluded transfer window.

Williams went on to make his debut for the Welsh giants in their league match against Hull City at the weekend and helped the side keep a clean sheet, while also impressing Martin in the process.

Swansea head coach Martin, who explained that Williams has settled in well at the club after the match, has expressed his delight at being entrusted by Liverpool to improve the youngster.

Martin explained that he is excited to work with the central defender and is keen to provide him with a platform to improve as a player over the course of the 2021/22 campaign.

We’re really excited to work with him“, Martin told a press conference.

We’ve been entrusted by Liverpool to improve him.

He’s certainly made a promising start and I just want him to improve like the rest of the guys, I want every single player to improve.

Swansea host 14th-placed Millwall in the Championship on Wednesday and Williams will be hopeful of starting for his loan club.
