The Rossoneri played their first Champions League group stage game last night at Anfield in eight years and produced a solid performance.

The Serie A giants went into the break leading 2-1, but eventually lost as Mohamed Salah and Jordan Henderson scored in the second half to win the three points for Liverpool.

After an eight-year absence, the seven-time European champions are an unknown quality, but Leao feels that AC Milan proved their point against Liverpool.

He stressed that Liverpool and the other teams will not have to take them seriously and the Rossoneri will have their say in the Champions League group this season.

Leao told Milan TV: “We lost but we showed to the other teams and Liverpool that we are a good team.

“This is a difficult group but we can have our say.”

Apart from AC Milan and Liverpool, FC Porto and Atletico Madrid are other teams in Group B of the competition.

The other two sides played out a 0-0 draw at the Wanda Metropolitano despite Porto being down to ten men.
