The Owls were top of the League One table after four matches, after recording three wins and going unbeaten, but two successive defeats have seen the momentum of Moore’s side stalled.

They are now 12th in the table and face Shrewsbury Town at the weekend, with Moore’s side looking to get back to winning ways.

Moore stressed that with a huge turnover in the summer it has taken a lot of effort and time to get the squad to gel together and have the players match-ready.

While Moore concedes that the start to the campaign could have been worse, he insists that the Owls are not happy with how the season has panned out so far.

“We are an industry that is results driven”, Moore said in a press conference ahead of the game against Shrewsbury Town.

“There was a huge turn around in the summer.

“A huge squad rebuild.

“We feel the players that we have brought in will give the team balance.

“They just need volume to their game.

“We have had to work incredibly hard to get them up to speed.

“We have had one or two who have had niggly injuries.

“It is about getting that consistency.

“We still want to have that tenacity to win games.

“We have had a solid start but we are not happy with it.”

The Owls will have one factor on their side going into the game against Shrewsbury as their opponents have lost five of their opening seven league matches.
