Since joining Everton in the summer of 2019, Iwobi has had to experience playing under three different managers at Goodison Park, each with their own distinct playing styles.

As such Iwobi has played a number of different roles as suits the system under each manager at Goodison Park.

Iwobi feels that playing in positions that he hitherto had no experience in has helped him get out of his comfort zone and expand his vision of how the game is played.

He insisted that while he enjoys playing in midfield, he feels his best position while playing for Everton is out wide.

Speaking to Everton’s official site, Iwobi said: “I think playing different roles has helped me to understand the game a bit more, especially those defensive roles.

“I’m not going to complain – playing right wing-back, right midfield, left midfield, I’ll play anywhere and I’ll always give my best.

“My aim is to get more goals and assists but if I’m asked to do it at right wing-back, then I’ll do it and try my best!

“I think, for Everton, my best position for the team is probably out wide.

“For my national team, it’s completely different and I do like playing in the midfield as a number 8 or number 10.

“I feel like I can play in any position.

“For each manager and each team it’s going to be different.”

Iwobi has made 70 appearances for Everton so far and his goal contribution rate at Goodison Park has thus far been below the one he enjoyed at Arsenal.

He will be hoping that under Benitez he is able to play in the position he favours at Goodison Park more often and that he can contribute to the team to the best of his abilities.
