The Reds are back in Premier League action at the weekend when they welcome Vieira’s Eagles to Anfield.

Crystal Palace registered their first top flight win under new boss Vieira last week when they humbled Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 at Selhurst Park and are now gearing up to face a high-flying Liverpool side.

However, Reds legend Lawrenson has backed Jurgen Klopp’s men to comfortably bag all three points at the weekend as the visitors are still a work in progress under Vieira.

Lawrenson added that Crystal Palace’s players need to have the ball at their feet if they want to trouble the Liverpool backline, which they are unlikely to have a lot of, especially when playing at Anfield.

“I think with Palace, [they] are definitely going to be a work in progress”, Lawrenson told Off The Ball while discussing Liverpool’s upcoming top flight clash.

“I expect Liverpool to beat them and beat them quite comfortably.

“[Odsonne] Edouard [vs Virgil van Dijk] well, the problem about going to Anfield and playing against Van Dijk is you have got to have the ball [which Crystal Palace are unlikely to have].

“And without the ball, you can run all day and you can knock defenders over and you can be difficult to play against, but if you do not have the ball, you have got no chance of beating anybody.”

Liverpool are unbeaten in their opening four games in the top flight campaign and will be looking for a fourth win come Saturday.
