Vlahovic’s future at Fiorentina came under the scanner in the summer due to interest from Atletico Madrid and Tottenham, but he remained at La Viola, with the club being clear that only an astronomical offer could land him.

Fiorentina are now busily working to lock Vlahovic down on a new contract as they bid to strengthen their position further.

Tottenham are still keeping tabs on the striker, with suggestions that Fabio Paratici is still keen to sign him next summer.

Commisso is not keen to discuss the striker’s future at the moment and is hopeful that he is going to be at Fiorentina for a number of years.

However, the Fiorentina president is clear that he cannot guarantee that the Serbian will sign a new contract with the club just yet.

Commisso told Violanews.com: “Let’s leave him alone, I spoke to him and he is a good guy who is having success.

“He is a nice thing for Fiorentina, let’s hope he can stay here for a long time.

“I won’t make promises [about his new contract] that I can’t keep.”

Fiorentina are believed to be ready to give him the most expensive contract in the club’s history.
