Tottenham won their opening three games while Arsenal lost those fixtures without scoring a single goal last month.

But the fortunes have turned in the last couple of weeks with Arsenal winning their last two league fixtures while Spurs suffered back-to-back 3-0 losses to Crystal Palace and Chelsea.

Ahead of the north London derby, Arsenal are the team in form while Tottenham are struggling but Thompson believes it is likely to be a boring draw.

He conceded that Spurs have defensive issues to sort out but he is still not sure about Arsenal and their ability to take advantage of those problems.

Thompson remains unconvinced about Arsenal despite their last two wins that saw them keep clean sheets as well.

He said on the Where’s Jeff podcast: “I am going for a 1-1 draw in this game, a boring 1-1 draw.

“I have no true faith in Arsenal at the moment. I know they have had a couple of 1-0 wins but there is something about them.

“And that’s why with Spurs, after them winning three 1-0s and then to come cropper, you are just looking at it.

“They have had two 3-0 defeats, it shows they are not good defensively and can Arsenal take advantage?

“I just don’t think so and so I am going to sit on the fence.”

Arsenal are 13th in the league table on six points while Spurs are sitting seventh in the league table on nine points.
