Kane has struggled to find his rhythm in front of goal this season following an eventful summer which saw his efforts to force through a love to Manchester City come undone.

The striker is yet to score a goal in the Premier League this term and again failed to make an impact on Sunday as Spurs fell to a 3-1 loss in a north London derby against Arsenal, their third consecutive league defeat.

Ex-Tottenham star Crooks is of the view that Kane looked like he was going through the motions in Sunday’s clash, and stressed his body language on the pitch was also worrying.

With Kane struggling to find his form under mounting pressure, Crooks added that he expected the England captain to have a stronger character.

“The writing was on the wall at Emirates Stadium when I saw Ben White outjump Harry Kane for a 50/50 header in the early exchanges”, Crooks wrote in his BBC Sport column.

“Anyone can lose a header but it’s Kane’s body language that worried me.

“I said last week against Chelsea that he looked like he didn’t fancy it, while against Arsenal he looked like he was going through the motions.

“I expect the captain of Tottenham Hotspur and England to be made of tougher stuff.”

Spurs return to the field on Thursday in the Europa Conference League to take on Slovenian outfit NS Mura and Tottenham faithful will be hooping Kane will find his scoring boots soon, and help get their season back on track.
