The Yorkshire-based club suffered their third defeat of the season in the Premier League when they hosted David Moyes’ West Ham at Elland Road last weekend.

While the defeat against the Irons saw Leeds drop down to 18th in the league table, Whites striker Bamford has picked out Meslier’s performance as a positive from the game.

The Whites led West Ham 1-0 at half-time on Saturday, but Bamford is of the view that the visitors could have had as many as four goals if it was not for Meslier’s contribution in goal.

Bamford hailed Meslier, 21, as an unbelievable goalkeeper and acknowledged the Frenchman’s contributions by pointing out how he bails Leeds out when in need.

Fortunately, one thing we did learn from Saturday is that Illan is unbelievable“, Bamford said on The Official Leeds United Podcast.

Even though we were really, really good [in the] first half, they arguably could have had three or four [goals] in the first half as well.

He showed that he is there to bail us out, which I think is important as well.

While Bamford has been impressed with Meslier’s performances, the goalkeeper will be disappointed that he still does not have a Premier League clean sheet this season.
