Pulisic has been ruled out of the Chelsea first-team squad since sustaining an ankle injury while away on international duty last month.

The star winger has not played in the Premier League since the opening matchday as before the injury he also had to deal with illness.

He has thus missed six of Chelsea’s league games as well as two Champions League fixtures but now there is cause for hope.

The winger is expected to return to training with the first team starting from next week and the supporters will be hoping the American star comes back fully fit again.

If indeed he does return to regular training next week, it remains to be seen whether he manages to make an appearance for the Blues in the game against Brentford at the weekend.

Injuries have, unfortunately, been part and parcel of Pulisic’s stay at Stamford Bridge as he sometimes had to miss large swathes of the Blues’ games.

A major part of the reason Pulisic has not approached the 30 appearances mark for the Blues in his two completed season in the league are injuries.
