Mane has been one of the most potent weapons in Liverpool’s attacking unit under Jurgen Klopp, but he struggled to hit his peak form last term.
The winger appears to have got his mojo back this term, having already scored five goals in nine outings across all competitions for the Reds.
However, Liverpool legend Aldridge has insisted the Senegal international still can do better on the pitch for the Reds even though he is back amongst the goals.
Aldridge admitted he is unable to put a finger on what exactly Mane is missing this season, but stressed he remains a massive threat and an excellent player for the Merseyside giants.
“Given Mo Salah’s blistering start to the season, it has been suggested that Sadio Mane is somewhat going under the radar”, Aldridge wrote in his Liverpool Echo column.
“He struggled last year, but this season he has shown he is back on form.
“Having said that, there is just something missing from Mane’s game and I can’t understand what it actually is.
“He is scoring goals, which is the main thing, but he can do better. He will know that
“Mane is not the same man was he two years ago, but he remains a massive threat and an excellent player.
“The better Salah does, the better he will become.
“You want to be as good as your strike partners, that’s how it is.
“It makes the team thrive and it’s good competition to have.”
Liverpool will return to the pitch at the weekend in a Premier League clash against Watford and fans will be hoping the likes of Salah and Mane will again power them to another win.
