Sane spent four years at Manchester City under Guardiola’s tutelage, winning two Premier Leagues, an FA Cup and two EFL Cups during his time at the Etihad.

There were rumours that the German had a falling out with the Manchester City manager before he left the club in the summer of 2020.

But regardless of what happened between the two, Sane remains eternally grateful towards the Spaniard and admits that his time at Manchester City still benefits him as a player.

He stressed that the Manchester City boss focused on the tiniest of details in coaching and he continues to benefit from what he learned under the Spaniard at the Etihad.

The winger told t-online.de: “That time left a strong mark on me, and I still benefit from it today.

“[Guardiola] practically reprogrammed me on a tactical level in Manchester.

“It was about the tiniest details, every movement and how every space could be used perfectly.”

Sane netted 39 goals and provided 45 assists in his 135 appearances for Manchester City during his four-year stay at the club.
