The 30-year-old attacker has started the last three Premier League games after being a bit-part player at the start of the season.

The forward is in the final year of his contract and Arsenal are reportedly not prepared to offer him a new long-term contract.

There are suggestions that the Gunners are open to agreeing on a short-term contract with the striker if he is prepared to sign such a new deal.

The Arsenal manager stressed that he is delighted with what Lacazette has been doing on the pitch for the club this season.

But he insisted that there will be no movement on the Frenchman’s contract situation until the end of the season.

Arteta said in a press conference when asked about the striker’s contract: “I don’t know there is so much stuff.

“What I can say is I’m really happy with what Laca is doing.

“We’re not going to be talking about any of that until the end of the season.”

Lacazette will be free to hold talks over a pre-contract with clubs outside England from January onwards.
