Manchester United have worked out an agreement with Rangnick and the German is set to become their interim manager until the end of the season.

A deal is also in place for the 63-year-old to take up a consultancy role at Manchester United following the end of his interim contract.

Manchester United are now in talks with Lokomotiv Moscow to get him out of his head of sports contract and they see no problem in working out a deal with the Russian club.

Rangnick’s decision to move to England has surprised some in Russia as he only signed the three-year contract with Lokomotiv in July.

But Naumov is not shocked as he stressed that the German is a football businessman and moving to Manchester United will earn him more money.

The former Lokomotiv president told Championat: “There will be nothing surprising about Rangnick’s possible departure.

“Moreover, in addition to Manchester United, there will be others who want Ralf.

“Rangnick is a football businessman and a city man, the more countries and areas he covers, the more he earns.

“There is nothing to be surprised at.”

Lokomotiv Moscow are expecting to announce the departure of the German soon as he prepares to take charge of the Red Devils.

Rangnick is only expected to take charge of the Manchester United side ahead of their home game against Arsenal next week.
