Juninho recently revealed that he will be leaving the role of Lyon sporting director at the end of the season.

Lyon were left shocked by his admission as they were not expecting the Brazilian to leave but the club are now searching for a replacement for him.

The French giants are considering a number of options across the board and are expecting to interview candidates over the next few months.

And according to French outlet Foot Mercato, Campos has emerged as one of the candidates who could become the next Lyon sporting director.

The Portuguese is a highly-rated football operator and is known for his brilliant eye for young talent.

He held the technical director’s role at Monaco and Lille and has been out of work since last year.

Campos is one of the names Lyon are considering but so far they have not made any contact with him.

The 57-year-old has also enquired about the structures at Lyon but so far, neither side have initiated any contact.

The Portuguese is also in the fray for the technical director’s role at Newcastle under the new owners and the Magpies may now face a fight with Lyon for him.
