Liverpool have already qualified for the last 16 by winning Group B with a perfect record so far of five wins from five games, but Atletico Madrid, AC Milan and FC Porto are battling for second spot in the group.

The Rossoneri host Liverpool at the San Siro on Tuesday evening, but they will have to tackle the in-form Reds without their Portuguese attacker Leao.

According to Italian outlet MilanNews.it, Leao has a severe muscle contusion in his right thigh, which has led to a small hamstring injury.

As such the Rossoneri will have to do without him when they face Liverpool.

Leao has found the back of the net five times in 19 appearances for AC Milan so far this season, as well as providing three assists for his team-mates.

One of the 22-year-old’s assists came in AC Milan’s earlier group meeting with Liverpool, when they lost 3-2 at Anfield.

It remains to be seen how the Rossoneri will cope in the absence of the Portuguese.
