With the January transfer window now rapidly approaching, clubs are assessing their squads and what they need in the middle of the season.

Both Arsenal and Manchester United are hoping to finish in the top four, while Newcastle want to survive in the Premier League.

The highly rated midfielder is out of contract at Marseille in the summer and the French outfit are desperate to see him renew his deal.

It is claimed they have now put a five-year contract in front of Kamara, but the player may decide to head elsewhere.

Marseille could look to sell him in January to earn a fee from his departure, while Kamara will also be able to sign a pre-contractual agreement with a non-French club; it emerged earlier this week that Newcastle have kept lines of communication open with him.

He has big interest from the Premier League and Arsenal, Newcastle and Manchester United are all preparing bids for him.

The Premier League trio want to sign the 22-year-old and are admirers of his abilities.

Marseille are second in Ligue 1 at the moment and losing Kamara in January would be a blow.
