The Foxes are dealing with injuries in the run-up to the game, with centre-back Caglar Soyuncu unlikely to play in the game against Liverpool and several others like Johnny Evans, Kelechi Iheanacho and Ayoze Perez being doubts.

Liverpool themselves will be missing a number of key players going into the EFL Cup clash, with the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson all likely to miss the action.

Ndidi is of the belief that the missing players will not affect the result of the match as the toll exerted on the Foxes by injuries and illness is matched by the Reds going through the same hardships.

The Foxes star is confident ahead of the game against the Reds, insisting that the Leicester team are going to Anfield to win and progress in the EFL Cup.

Speaking to Leicester City TV, Ndidi said: “They’re the same as us because we’ll be having some players missing.

“They also might have [some players missing], but it’s football.

“Sometimes you have players injured.

“It’s something you have to deal with, but for them also.

“It’s a game where we can get something out of it.

“We’re going there to get something out of it.

“We believe in ourselves and we just need to do it.

“You will see the confidence comes from there.”

Liverpool will head into the tie against Leicester City hoping to win and progress to the semi-finals of the EFL Cup for the first time since the 2016/17 season.
