Vlahovic is one of the most sought after strikers following a stellar 18 months at Fiorentina and has been heavily linked with a move away from the Serie A giants.

Fabio Paratici is interested in taking him to Tottenham and Spurs are plotting to sign him in the summer.

But Arsenal are claimed to be pushing to land the Serbian in January to solve Mikel Arteta’s problems up front following his falling out with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

And according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, Arsenal have tabled an offer worth €55m to test Fiorentina’s resolve to keep him until the end of the season.

The Gunners have also offered to forego the €15m option to buy Fiorentina have on Lucas Torreira to take the value of the deal to €70m.

Vlahovic has 18 months left on his contract and the striker has been keen to leave only in the summer.

Fiorentina are also pushing to keep him as his goals have been powering their bid to finish in the top four this season.

However, it remains to be seen whether Arsenal can change the player and Fiorentina’s minds this month.
