Wesley joined the Belgian champions in the summer in what was supposed to be a season-long loan to build up his game time.

The Belgian club were where the forward made his name in the past and where he induced Aston Villa to splash big money to sign him.

However, Wesley’s return to Belgium was nowhere near triumphant as he made just three appearances in the league and did not contribute with a goal or an assist.

Now the forward has cut ties with Club Brugge and is set to join Brazilian side Internacional on a loan agreement.

Wesley arrived at Aston Villa in the summer of 2019 but has struggled in England to conjure up the same impressive performances he did in his first spell at Club Brugge.

In total, the forward has played just 26 times for the Villans, while he has also had problems with injuries, with one he sustained at the start of 2020 keeping him out for the rest of the year.

The forward will be hoping his loan spell back in his homeland can help him put his career back on track.
