The Hammers are looking to bolster their left-back options with first choice Aaron Cresswell currently sidelined with injury.

West Ham have Everton left-back Digne on their transfer radar, amid the Frenchman looking to leave Goodison Park following losing his first team spot under boss Rafael Benitez owing to disagreements over his tactical set-up.

But David Moyes’ side are not the only club interested in Digne as London rivals Chelsea, along with Newcastle United are also considering snapping him up this month.

However, West Ham are unlikely to move for Digne given his high wage demands.

The 28-year-old earns north of £100,000 a week, an amount West Ham are reluctant to meet with the way they have set up their current wage structure.

Moreover, Cresswell is also understood to be close to making a return to the first team fold having made progress on the road to recovery.

Even though West Ham may end the window without a new left-back in their ranks, they could still bolster their defence as a new centre-back is a priority for Moyes.
