Newcastle are struggling in the drop zone owing to a tough start to their Premier League campaign.

The Magpies’ new owners are aware of the need to bolster their squad to boos their chances of survival in the top flight and have moved early to rope in right-back Kieran Trippier.

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe wants a new centre-back, midfield additions and a striker before the window slams shut and Lille man Yazici is among the names they are interested in bringing to Tyneside.

However, according to French sports daily L’Equipe, Russian giants CSKA Moscow are also keen on snaring away him from Lille.

The Moscow giants have had positive talks with the midfielder’s entourage and are aiming to seal a loan deal with an option to buy with Lille for him this month.

Lille are willing to sanction a loan exit for Yazici and CSKA Moscow could beat Newcastle to his signature.

In addition to Yazici, Norwich City’s Todd Cantwell is another attacking midfielder on Newcastle’s transfer radar and they are mulling over whether to table a bid for his services.
