Zakaria has six months left on his contract at Gladbach and will not be signing a new deal with the German outfit, leading the club to look at selling him this month.

Several clubs across Europe have been keeping tabs with a view to signing Zakaria and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have been linked with him as they search for a midfielder.

However, Manchester United have been in contact with his representatives and have made an offer to take him to Old Trafford.

And the Premier League giants would be prepared to pay a fee to sign him this month if the player is willing to join.

Ralf Rangnick is an admirer of the Gladbach midfielder and is not happy with the midfielder options he has in his squad.

Zakaria is a target for the Red Devils and the club are considering whether to try and sign him in the winter transfer window.

However, Manchester United are yet to open negotiations with Gladbach over trying to sign the Swiss international this month.

The midfielder has also been watched by Liverpool but they have not gone beyond making an enquiry for him.
