The Spaniard made two appearances in the league at the start of the season but has not even made the matchday squads for the Gunners over the last few months.

He is not part of Mikel Arteta’s plans this season and Arsenal have been open to letting him go in the ongoing transfer window.

Sampdoria have reportedly tabled a bid to sign him on loan but it has been claimed that he could be on his way to Udinese.

According to Sky Italia, the Italian club are close to working out an agreement to sign the Spaniard on loan.

Udinese are in talks with Arsenal and are close to getting a deal over the line to sign Mari on loan.

It is set to be a straightforward loan deal with no option to buy in the agreement between the two clubs.

The Italian club are waiting for the final approval from Arsenal to secure a loan deal for Mari.

The Spaniard has played little football in the first half of the season and will hope to feature more in Italy in the latter half of the campaign.
