At the start of the season, Hunt went on loan to National League side Grimsby Town, but he is now back at Hillsborough.

He proved to be a vital player for the Mariners as he started 16 league games, missing only the odd game.

Upon his return from his loan spell at Blundell Park, the youngster signed a contract extension that keeps him at the club until the end of next season.

After his loan spell in the fifth-tier in the first half of the season, the midfielder is now likely to take the step up to the fourth tier.

Hunt is on the verge of moving on loan to League Two side Oldham Athletic for the rest of the season, joining a side who are in a precarious situation.

The Latics are currently bottom of the League Two table, four points off safety, and they have also faced off-the-field struggles with protests from supporters.

Hunt is a Sheffield Wednesday academy graduate with 14 appearances to his name in the first team at Hillsborough and he will be hoping to continue his progress in League Two.
