The 25-year-old winger has emerged as a target for Tottenham in the final days of the window and the club are in talks to sign him from Porto.
The north London club have tabled a bid for him but for the moment there is no agreement between Porto and Tottenham for his transfer to the London outfit
And it has been claimed that Spurs will have to offer more money in order to extract Diaz out of Porto.
The Portuguese giants are not impressed with the offer on their table and want Spurs to make an improved bid.
Tottenham also have work to do to convince the player as well as Diaz is also holding out for a better contract.
Spurs have work to do on both fronts – agreeing on a deal with Porto and working out personal terms with the winger.
It remains to be seen whether the club can make headway in negotiations to sign the wide man in the next four days.
