It has emerged that the French side are exploring adding Lo Celso to the ranks as they seek to replace Newcastle United bound Bruno Guimaraes.

They are looking at signing Lo Celso, who is out of favour at Tottenham, on loan, but it has been claimed they would not be opposed to an outright transfer.

If the sums add up for Lyon then they would be willing to take the Argentine the France on a permanent basis, ending his time at Tottenham.

Spurs want to offload Lo Celso as he is not in Antonio Conte’s plans and a permanent sale could suit the north London club.

The midfielder was recently left out of Tottenham’s squad to face Chelsea in the Premier League and then took to social media to insist he was fit and ready if called upon.

Tottenham want to sign a midfielder this month, but are keen to offload out of favour players first.

They also want to show Dele Alli and Tanguy Ndombele the door before the transfer window shuts.
