The Whites are on the lookout for reinforcements before Monday evening’s deadline, but have faced disappointment in their chase of Red Bull Salzburg star Brenden Aaronson.
Liverpool’s Minamino has been linked with Leeds, the Japanese being a player who the Reds are now willing to sell, potentially for a deal worth in the region of £20m.
However, Leeds do not believe they will be signing Minamino, with Argentine daily La Nacion journalist Claudio Mari relaying word from the Whites’ camp rating the arrival of the Japanese as “impossible”.
Whites winger Crysencio Summerville has been heavily linked with leaving the club before the transfer window shuts amid interest from Hamburg.
However, the club do not want to let the Dutchman leave before bringing in a replacement and it seems Minamino is not an option.
The Yorkshire giants have had their squad stretched through injuries throughout the campaign and boss Marcelo Bielsa does not want to weaken it.
It remains to be seen if Leeds have other irons in the transfer fire during the remaining hours of the window.
