Sunderland are set to interview Keane for the job 13 years after he was initially sacked by the Black Cats in his previous stint.
The former Black Cats boss is keen on returning to the Stadium of Light and he is reportedly the number one target for the majority of the Sunderland board.
However, Jordan has serious reservations over Sunderland wanting to get Keane back at the Stadium of Light.
He feels it seems like the action of a young chairman who is trying to appoint a former great player who once had a good record in management.
The former Crystal Palace chairman also does not feel Keane’s management record is anything to write home about.
Jordan said on talkSPORT: “I am sure if he is putting himself in the mix then he is ready, I am not sure it is the right fit.
“This is a young chairman and I am not sure he will know what he is getting into.
“There were difficulties with Roy with slightly more experienced owners at the time he had at Sunderland and Ipswich.
“Roy’s perceived management style is to be up and at them and probably Sunderland need a kick up their backside.
“But I find myself full of reservations with this one.
“I think it’s a mix of a young chairman looking at someone who was iconic in his playing image and once upon a time did okay in management.
“If you look at his management record, it isn’t great.”
Keane has not been a manager since he left Ipswich Town almost in 2011 and has not been part of a dugout since he left Nottingham Forest’s assistant manager’s role in 2019.
