The 3-0 win over Rangers took Celtic to the top of the league table and they have a one-point lead over their Glasgow rivals at the moment.

Given the way Celtic have been playing over the last few months and the drop-off from Rangers, many feel the title is now for Ange Postecoglou’s side to lose in the second half of the season.

However, Hartson stressed that no one should get carried after one good result for Celtic despite the convincing nature of their win over Rangers at Parkhead.

He admits that Celtic seem to be the team who are on the up at the moment, but is clear that the Bhoys have got some tough games to play in the coming weeks and months.

The former Bhoy believes Celtic will drop more points going forward and the title race is going to be extremely tight until the end.

When asked if the title is for Celtic to lose, Hartson said on the Go Radio Football Show: “It’s a long way to go.

“It’s one game by the way, and Celtic were very convincing.

“They are the team at the minute who are riding the crest of a wave, in the ascendency but there are 14 games to go.

“Some really tough games to go, Celtic have to go to Aberdeen next Wednesday night, which is a notoriously difficult place to go and away to Motherwell at the weekend.

“I believe there will be more points dropped, outside of the two derbies.

“There is a race on, it’s extremely tight, but right now, I’d be thinking of the £50m carrot at the end of it and I have a feeling which way I’d be siding.”

Celtic have away trips to Motherwell and Aberdeen lined up in the next week before taking on Raith Rovers in the fifth round of the Scottish Cup at home.
