Celtic paid just over £2m to sign the Croatian defender from Polish club Legia Warsaw last summer and he has gradually emerged as a key player for the Bhoys this season.
He was brilliant at right-back in Celtic’s 3-0 derby win over Rangers at Parkhead last week and has made 17 starts in the Scottish Premiership in the ongoing campaign.
Ferguson admitted that Celtic did well to find a player of his quality for a relatively low fee and stressed that Juranovic was already a good player before he joined the Glasgow giants given the fact he had already represented Croatia.
The former Scotland midfielder feels that the Croatian is comfortable both at defending and attacking, a trait that every top modern full-back needs to have in their game.
Ferguson said on the Go Radio Football Show: “What a find!
“Just over £2m and plus he is a Croatian international.
“To be a Croatian international you need to be a decent player.
“I’ll be honest, I didn’t know too much about him but he is a bus-bomb, he is always up and down there.
“Also, he is a really good defender, good going forward – all the attributes you need to be a top full-back.”
Juranovic has already scored four times in 26 appearances for Celtic in his first season at the club.
