Bowen sustained the injury in a game against Liverpool earlier in the month and has missed all of the Hammers’ games since.
The winger’s injury was initially not suspected to have affected him seriously but the timeline for his return has stretched out longer than expected.
It was feared that Bowen would not be fit for the first leg of the Europa League quarter-final clash against Lyon next week.
The signs are now encouraging though as Bowen has a made a big step-up in his recovery and is back working on the grass, though only individually.
His recovery however is not expected to be so fast-paced that he will be able to take the pitch against Everton this weekend, but the Lyon game appears to be a possibility.
Bowen missed both legs of the round of 16 win against Sevilla in the Europa League and he will be hoping that he is able to help the Hammers progress even further in the competition.
The winger has been one of the star performers for the Hammers this season, recording 12 goals and eleven assists in 39 appearances this term.
