The Toffees continued their miserable run away from home in the top flight on Sunday as they fell to a narrow 2-1 loss against West Ham United at the London Stadium.

However, Frank Lampard’s side need to refocus quickly as they gear up to lock horns with fellow relegation candidates Burnley at Turf Moor in midweek.

Ex-Everton star Ball insists that all the pressure is on Everton going into Wednesday’s game and stressed all their players need to step up and handle the challenge.

“Burnley will play with no pressure on them on Wednesday night”, Ball wrote in his Liverpool Echo column.

“The pressure is on Everton to get three points.

“And the players have got to be able to take that pressure.”

Ball added that clinching all three points at Turf Moor on Wednesday would be massive for Everton as it would define their season as they continue their fight for survival.

“The reality is the emphasis is on us to go out there and get three points.

“It would be a massive three points if we could get them, it would be three points that would define our season.

“If we don’t get the result we want then it could be a very nerve wracking end to the season.

“The players need to stand up and be counted.”

The Toffees registered a thrilling 3-1 win when they met Burnley earlier this season at Goodison Park and fans will be hoping they can do a league double over the Clarets come midweek.
