Arteta is in charge of one of the most high-profile clubs in Arsenal, and is overseeing a massive rebuilding project, while being locked in a tight battle for a Champions League spot in the Premier League this season.
The Spaniard had a lengthy playing career that saw him ply his trade in Spain, England, France and Scotland, with Rangers, and is now in his first stint as a manager, a job known for its demanding and high pressure nature.
Former Rangers defender Foster still has memories of playing against the Gunners boss in a friendly 15 years ago while he was at Everton and feels he looks exactly the same now as he did then.
Foster compared Mikel Arteta to Benjamin Button, the character in David Fincher’s ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’, a man who ages in reverse.
“I only played against him [Arteta] in a bounce game, I think he was at Everton at the time and he looked exactly like that”, Foster told PLZ Soccer.
“Even his face, he does not seem to have any wrinkles.
“[He is] like Benjamin Button.
“He just seems to look exactly the same as he did 15 years ago.”
Arteta’s Arsenal will be back in Premier League action at the weekend when they host Brighton & Hove Albion and will be determined to get back into the win column, following a humbling 3-0 defeat away at Crystal Palace on Monday
