A product of the Toffees’ academy set-up, the young midfielder’s current contract with the club expires in the summer.
The 19-year old is currently on loan at League Two side Tranmere Rovers, whom he joined in the January window in a bid to clock up first team experience.
With his deal running out at the end of the season, the Toffees are eager to extend the stay of the midfielder, who is seen as a prospect for the future.
To that end, the Toffees are in ongoing talks with Warrington and his representatives over a new deal for him at Goodison Park.
Warrington has been earning praise during his spell at Prenton Park, so far making 12 appearances and scoring a goal and assist each.
He has not missed a match for Tranmere since early February and played the full 90 minutes in five of their last six games, helping them in their pursuit of the playoff places.
Before leaving for Tranmere, the Everton youngster also started 12 games for the Toffees Under-23s in the league, not missing a match for them in the last three months before departing on loan.
