Greenwood only made a single Premier League appearance under former boss Bielsa, but has already played in two top flight games under new boss Marsch, setting up two goals in the process.

Marsch has been impressed by the way Greenwood has adapted to his football methodology and has tipped him to be among the names under consideration to play bigger first team roles next season.

The Leeds starlet has revealed that he has been able to adapt to Marsch’s style in quickfire time because he has always been a hard worker off the ball, which is something the American demands from all his players.

Asked how he has been able to adapt to Marsch’s style quickly, Greenwood said on the Official Leeds United Podcast: “I think it is because since I was young, off the ball I have always worked hard and he loves reactions off the ball.

“I think that is my game and I suit his style of football basically.”

Greenwood added that Marsch’s style of play suits him more than the man-marking system employed by former boss Marcelo Bielsa, as it allows him to be freer on the pitch while being more aggressive in pressing off the ball.

“Yes, I think I suit this way of playing a bit more.

“Obviously with Bielsa, it was man to man but with this style of playing you do not have to stay with your man.

“Basically, you stay in between two men and if it goes to left side, you could all go as a team to that guy.

“So, instead of focusing on your man so much, you can jump to a different man and yes, that suits me to a tee basically.

“I love showing up with aggression and pressing off the ball.”

The striker will be determined to earn more game time in the Premier League in their remaining games of the season and possibly open his account for the Whites.
