Following a rocky start under new boss Marsch, Leeds have now found some form and are currently riding a four-game unbeaten streak in the Premier League.
Marsch has earned plaudits for the way he has made a positive impact at Elland Road in quickfire time, as he continues to mould his charges into playing the football that he wants.
Former Leeds hitman Beckford has revealed that Marsch’s capacity to make slight tactical changes to his team in the heat of battle is something that he really admirers.
“Something I like about Jesse Marsch [is that] he is not afraid to tweak the system ever so slightly during the game, during play and that is something I feel like I have seen once or twice with him so far”, Beckford said on the Official Leeds United Podcast.
“And it works, it really does, it really works.”
Beckford also stressed that it has become easier for Marsch to make slight tactical tweaks mid-game since Leeds have veered away from the man-making system they played under former boss Marcelo Bielsa.
“Absolutely, [the fact that Leeds have moved away from a man-marking system to a more zonal approach under Marsch has made making the tweaks easier].
“It absolutely does.”
Marsch and his new charges are currently working hard on the training pitch during an extended break as they will only return to top flight action on 25th April against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
