The shot-stopper is out of contract at West Brom in the summer and is expected to depart the club on a free transfer, something which has seen a host of sides show interest in his services.

Now Baggies boss Steve Bruce will not pick Johnstone for his side’s remaining games, meaning the goalkeeper has likely played his final game for the club.

Bruce wants to look at his other options between the sticks as he runs the rule over what he currently has in the building and what he needs for next season.

Johnstone has made 36 appearances in the Championship for West Brom this season, keeping 15 clean sheets in the process.

Tottenham are keen to snap him up as they look for cover for Hugo Lloris; Spurs have Pierluigi Gollini on loan, but are unlikely to take up an option to keep him on a permanent basis.

Manchester United meanwhile could let Dean Henderson move on and Johnstone is an attractive target for the Red Devils.

The 29-year-old shot-stopper will leave West Brom having made over 160 appearances for the club.
