Adeyemi has scored 20 times this season in all competitions this season and has been on the radar of several clubs ahead of the summer.

The 20-year-old forward has been closely watched by Liverpool who have been considering taking him to Anfield and were recently claimed to still be in talks with his representatives.

But Dortmund have had the edge in the race to sign him for several months and it has been claimed that a deal to sign him essentially done.

According to German broadcaster Sport1, the Bundesliga giants have worked out personal terms on a five-year contract worth €5m per season with the player.

The negotiations between Dortmund and Salzburg were more complicated as the former were not prepared to meet the Austrian’s €40m asking price.

However, that has also been sorted out and there is now an agreement between the two clubs as well.

Dortmund have agreed to pay a fee of €38m to take Adeyemi to the Westfalenstadion in the summer.

The club have more or less secured a replacement for Erling Haaland even before he leaves the club.
