The Reds battled through adversity to register a comeback win away at Villarreal on Tuesday night in the second leg of their semi-final tie, booking a place in the Champions League final on the back of a 5-2 aggregate scoreline.

Liverpool, who have already clinched the EFL Cup, are also in the FA Cup final, and are just one point behind Manchester City in the Premier League title race, as they chase an unprecedented quadruple this season.

Former top flight star Fjortoft has hailed Liverpool for championing a winning mentality under Klopp as they now seem to have lost their ability to be on the losing side of a game.

The Norwegian revealed that Klopp reminds him of legendary Red Devils boss Ferguson, in the way he keeps his players sharp and hungry for more success with the Merseyside giants.

Fjortoft wrote on Twitter: “Liverpool seem to have lost their ability to lose games.

“The way Klopp keeps all players hungry and sharp reminds me of Sir Alex.”

Klopp recently signed a new two-year contract at Anfield, that will see him remain at the club until the end of the 2025/26 season.
