Haaland is set to join Manchester City and Dortmund are stepping up on their efforts to sign a replacement for him in the summer transfer window.

The Bundesliga giants have been scouring the market for a number of options and are weighing who can help to replace Haaland.

And it has been claimed that Dortmund have managed to whittle down their shortlist to just two names.

According to German broadcaster Sky Deutschland, Ekitike is one of the two names Dortmund are now focusing on ahead of the summer.

The Reims striker decided against joining Newcastle in the winter transfer window but the Magpies are now tipped to sign him in the next window.

It remains to be seen whether Dortmund’s interest suggests Newcastle are not as advanced with their swoop as had been believed.

Ekitike is liked at Dortmund and he has made his way on to their final shortlist of targets.

Ajax striker Sebastien Haller is the other player the Bundesliga giants are considering signing at the moment.
