With Sadio Mane expected to leave the Reds, Jurgen Klopp is expected to add another forward to his squad in the upcoming transfer window

Liverpool are considering a number of options and Danjuma is one of the players they are believed to be interested in signing.

The Dutch winger insisted that during the season he did not entertain any talks with clubs over a transfer as he did not want his focus to be shifted.

However, he confirmed that Liverpool are indeed following him ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

The winger told Dutch broadcaster Ziggo Sport: “I am always as honest as possible.

“I have never had contacts with clubs or anything like that during the season. I always know about the situation after the season.

“I don’t want to get involved during the season.

“But I was informed that Liverpool were following me closely.”

Danjuma stressed that he does not want to deceive anyone when it comes to his future at Villarreal.

He admitted that if he gets an opportunity to join a bigger club he would consider an offer to leave the Spanish side.

“I will never lie and I think it’s a bad quality if you are not ambitious.

“And if a club came along that offers a higher sporting platform, I would always consider it.”

It remains to be seen if Danjuma is the player Liverpool turn to in order to replace Mane.
