The Seagulls are aware that they could lose Cucurella this summer due to interest from Premier League champions Manchester City.

Manchester City have pressed the accelerator in talks to take the Spaniard to the Etihad in the ongoing transfer window.

Pep Guardiola is prepared to move on Oleksandr Zinchenko and wants Cucurella as his replacement this summer.

And it has been claimed that Brighton are also making proactive moves to offset the potential departure of the Spaniard.

It has been claimed that they have already established contact for Porto’s Nigerian left-back Zaidu.

The 25-year-old has been identified by the club as the potential replacement for Cucurella in the ongoing transfer window.

Zaidu has three years left on his contract and made 24 league appearances for the Portuguese giants last season.

However, he is likely to be open to a move to the Premier League if he receives a concrete offer on his table.
